Spain in the Final Four

In the shock of the evening, Spain had to wait until the very last minutes of the game to win against the Portuguese who were unhappy in front of their home crowd (1-0). The Spaniards will therefore play in the Final Four next June. Serbia and Scotland will be in League A for the next edition of the Nations League after the former's victory against Norway and the latter's draw against Ukraine. Sweden is relegated to League C after their draw with Slovenia.

No to racism

Richarlison was targeted by bananas from the stands of the Parc des Princes on Tuesday evening. The Brazilian striker was celebrating his 19th-minute goal against Tunisia, who were beaten 5-1 by the Seleçao. The Brazilian Federation quickly denounced this act. The person who threw it is yet to be found.

How about the Blues?

Kanté is back to training

N'Golo Kanté had missed six games since mid-August with a thigh injury, during which Chelsea had won only two. He’s finally back to training and hopefully will soon play again.

A Blues legend retires

John Obi Mikel has decided to end his career. "There is a proverb that says all good things must come to an end, and for my professional football career, that day has come," he wrote in a long message posted on Instagram. With the Blues, he played some 372 matches between 2006 and 2017 and built up a solid record of success with two English league titles in 2010 and 2015, a Champions League title (2012) and another in the Europa League (2013). He also won four FA Cups (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012) and two League Cups (2007 and 2015).

He was then crowned African champion with Nigeria in 2013, beating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final in Johannesburg.

Pushed to the bench by N'Golo Kanté, he then went into exile in China where he joined Tianjin TEDA in 2017 at a time when the newly restructured Chinese league was looking to attract established players from top European leagues.

Back from China, he successively played for Middlesbrough in the English 2nd division in 2019, Turkish club Trabzonspor (2019-2020), and Stoke City, again in England (2020-2021), before a final spell at Kuwait SC where he played his last game at the end of last year.
