It’s game day!
After the postponement of the Premier League this weekend, the Champion’s League is coming back. Tottenham is traveling to Lisbonne to face Sporting Portugal (5.45 pm) while Liverpool is receiving Ajax Amsterdam (8.00 pm). Not an easy game for the two English teams; both their opponents won their first game.
Refereeing scandal in Italy
Juventus were having difficulties against Salernitana this weekend as the score was 2-2. The Old Lady thought they had pulled off a superb win thanks to a goal from a Milik corner in the last minute. It was disallowed for offside, after consultation with VAR. The Italian press is now shouting for scandal, as Milik's goal should have been ruled in. The Gazzetta Dello Sport posted a photo of Candreva, who was covering the Polish striker in the action. A picture that the VAR did not have. For Corriere dello Sport, "Var is blind". Tuttosport speaks of "shame". A new case that is causing a stir in Italy...
CR7 refuses the tremendous contract
CNN Portugal has dropped a little bombshell by claiming that the Portuguese No7 turned down an unreal offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal during the last Mercato. The Gulf side reportedly offered the five-time Ballon d'Or winner a two-year contract. A lease paying €2.3m per week! That's €119.6m per year or nearly €240m over two years! In comparison, Lionel Messi earns around 30M euros per year at PSG.
